MIDLAND, Ga. – A Georgia community is in mourning after two teenage brothers were killed in a tragic domestic incident authorities say was committed by their stepfather.
On the evening of November 17, Harris County deputies rushed to a home on Christophers Way. The call came from the boys’ mother, who had fled to a neighbor’s house with her young son. She reported that her husband, 50-year-old Eric Grigsby, was threatening to kill the children and had also made threats towards law enforcement.
The situation escalated, and Grigsby was ultimately shot and killed by deputies at the scene.
Upon entering the residence, authorities made a heartbreaking discovery. Sixteen-year-old Luke Brady Swinyard was found deceased. His 14-year-old brother, John Brayden Swinyard, was critically injured and transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
The Sheriff’s Office has described the event as a devastating “family incident” that has left relatives and the entire community heartbroken. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing as the family grapples with an unimaginable loss.
