Honoring Ted Nielander – Public Memorial Gathering
Honoring Ted Nielander – Public Memorial Gathering
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ted Nielander, a beloved brother and a cornerstone of the Treasure Coast watersports community. A lifelong waterman, Ted’s life was defined by the ocean—whether he was surfing, boating, or paddling. Many knew him through his work at Jensen Beach Island Water Sports and Native Water Sports, or as a familiar face with the Treasure Coast Paddlers Group. His influence stretched from our local shores across the nation.
Ted possessed a rare gift for uniting people, patiently encouraging beginners, and fostering a true on-the-water family. His greatest devotion, however, was reserved for his daughters, who were the unwavering center of his world.
All are invited to a Public Memorial Gathering to honor his life:
📅 Sunday, December 7 at 10:00 AM
📍 Sandsprit Park – Pavilion #1, Stuart, FL
This outdoor, waterfront gathering will be a potluck-style celebration, as Ted would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the environmental causes he championed, particularly the Savannas Preserve State Park.
Ted’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and passion. We look forward to sharing stories and celebrating his remarkable spirit together.
—The Nielander
