Kenny Mcbride, Michigan Man Convicted In Brutal Murder And Mutilation Of Elderly Woman
Kenny Wayne McBride of Temperance, Michigan, is now serving a life sentence for the horrific 2020 murder of 79-year-old Cecilia Gibson. A Monroe County jury found him guilty of First-Degree Murder and the mutilation of a dead body after a three-day trial in June 2021.
The crime unfolded in a Bedford Township home shared by McBride, his father, and the victim. Cecilia Gibson was last seen alive on February 16. Just hours later, McBride’s father returned from work to a grim discovery: a body and a blood-soaked living room. Deputies arriving on the scene identified the victim as Cecilia Gibson and found clear evidence of a violent struggle and dismemberment.
McBride, the only other person in the home, feigned ignorance. However, evidence against him was overwhelming. The prosecution demonstrated that an argument over McBride’s neglected children triggered a rage-filled attack. DNA, phone records, and McBride’s own hand and head injuries, inconsistent with his alibi of working on his car, sealed his fate.
The jury rejected his fabricated story, delivering a just verdict. As a habitual offender, McBride faced the maximum penalty. For the brutal killing of Cecilia Gibson, he will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
