West Jessamine High School Mourns Instructional Assistant Who Passed Away
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Mr. Larry Crawford. For years, Larry was the vibrant heart of West Jessamine High School, seamlessly weaving together his roles as a dedicated instructional assistant, a gifted piano maestro, and our resident WJHS elf.
His presence was a melody in the hallways, and his fingers brought life to the piano keys, scoring the soundtrack to countless school memories. Even as he faced a valiant and courageous battle with cancer, Larry’s spirit never dimmed. His unwavering goal was always to return—to the stage for one more concert and, most importantly, to the students who adored him.

Larry’s legacy is not one of sadness, but of the enduring joy he created. He taught us about resilience, passion, and the simple power of a smile. He was a true maestro of kindness, and his music—both played and lived—will echo in our halls forever. Our deepest condolences go to his family, friends, and all the students whose lives he so beautifully touched. He will be profoundly missed.
